The Patient Care Technician program at Paramount Training Services is a professional development program for Certified Nursing Assistants looking to enhance their skills to work in the acute care environment (hospitals).
PCTs tend to that that are ill and/or injured under the supervision of doctors, nurses and medical professionals usually in an acute care (hospital) environment. The training includes, but is not limited to, taking vital signs, collecting specimens, diabetic testing, performing catheterization, wound care and assisting patients with eating, personal hygiene and grooming. PCTs also take notes and make assessments on patients care. PCTs often work in hospitals, rehabilitation facilities and/or clinics.
In-addition to the acute-care training that is the core to being a PCT, the student must also have already completed, or be co-currently enrolled in the EKG/ECG and Phlebotomy Programs in-order to meet the education requirements of the PCT program.
- *Completion of Nursing Assistant Program or valid Florida CNA License
- Enrollment (or Completion) of both the EKG/ECG and Phlebotomy Programs
* PCTs are generally NOT hired in Hospitals without both a valid Florida CNA License and a PCT National Certification
